Sono in corso in tutta Europa gli “European Days of Local Solidarity” (EDLS) (14-29 novembre), campagna annuale di 2 settimane promossa dal network PLATFORMA e gestita da città e regioni europee impegnate a informare e mobilitare i propri cittadini su questioni di solidarietà globale e sviluppo sostenibile. Fondato sui valori europei di democrazia, diversità e solidarietà, l’EDLS promuove la cooperazione decentralizzata e la cooperazione da città a città come strumento di successo per lo sviluppo sostenibile globale. 
Anche quest’anno sta partecipando attivamente l’AICCRE.

“Parlare di solidarietà tra enti locali è una priorità. Lo era prima della pandemia da Covid-19, a maggior ragione lo è in questa fase nella quale stiamo cecando di superarla”, ha commentato Carla Rey, segretario generale dell’AICCRE.
“Solidarietà significa sviluppare azioni di aiuto e di condivisione tra enti locali e quindi la solidarietà si rafforza con la cooperazione, in un momento di difficoltà a livello globale in cui le città sono il luogo che ha più vissuto il picco dell’emergenza e che devono rispondere e e reagire velocemente per dare soluzioni rapide ai cittadini”.
Le città, ha continuato il Segretario generale “sono quindi gli attori chiave per questo tipo di scambio e di apprendimento reciproco. AICCRE, che da sempre partecipa ai giorni della solidarietà locale, quest’anno lancia una modalità diversa, causata dalla pandemia, e cioè una campagna online di raccolta di sottoscrizioni della Carta EDLS”.
Lo fa attraverso la voce di eletti locali, che già si sono attivamente movimentati su questo tema.
“L’obiettivo non è solo quello di firmare la Carta ma di renderla virale.
Vogliamo che resti forte questo messaggio di solidarietà che parte dagli enti locali italiani e che vuole raggiungere, grazie al network PLATFORMA, più utenti possibili tra gli amministratori locali, in modo da spingere per le sottoscrizioni”.
Riteniamo che “i principi della Carta EDLS siano imprenscindibili per la ricostruzione post Covid-19 e per il rilancio di azioni di cooperazione tra le città”.

La campagna AICCRE si svolgerà rilanciando attraverso i social i messaggi raccolti dall’Associazione. I messaggi, in italiano ed in inglese, saranno diffusi anche dal canale YouTube dell’AICCRE ed attraverso il network PLATFORMA.
La Rey conclude con l’augurio che “essendo il festival nazionale Asvis promotore di questa iniziativa ci aiuterà a rilanciarla sia sul piano nazionale che internazionale”.

FIRMA LA CARTA

The “European Days of Local Solidarity” (EDLS) (14-29 November), an annual 2-week campaign promoted by the PLATFORMA network and run by European cities and regions committed to informing and mobilising their citizens on issues of global solidarity and sustainable development, is underway across Europe. Based on the European values of democracy, diversity and solidarity, the EDLS promotes decentralised and city-to-city cooperation as a successful tool for global sustainable development. AICCRE is actively participating again this year.
“Talking about solidarity between local authorities is a priority. It was a priority before the Covid-19 pandemic, all the more so at this stage when we are trying to overcome it,” commented Carla Rey, AICCRE’s Secretary General.
“Solidarity means developing actions of help and sharing between local authorities and therefore solidarity is strengthened by cooperation, in a time of global difficulties in which cities are the place that has most experienced the peak of the emergency and that must respond and react quickly to give rapid solutions to citizens”.
Cities, continued the Secretary General “are therefore the key actors for this kind of exchange and mutual learning. AICCRE, which has always participated in the days of local solidarity, this year launches a different way, caused by the pandemic, namely an online campaign to collect subscriptions to the EDLS Charter”.
It does so through the voice of local elected representatives, who have already been actively involved in this issue. “The aim is not only to sign the Charter but to make it viral. We want to keep strong this message of solidarity that starts from the Italian local authorities and that wants to reach, thanks to the PLATFORMA network, as many users as possible among local administrators, in order to push for subscriptions”.
We believe that “the principles of the EDLS Charter are imperative for the post-Covid-19 reconstruction and for the relaunch of cooperation actions between cities”.
The AICCRE campaign will be carried out by relaunching through social media the messages collected by the Association. The messages, in Italian and English, will also be disseminated on AICCRE’s YouTube channel and through the PLATFORMA network. Rey concludes with the hope that “being the national festival Asvis promoter of this initiative will help us to relaunch it both nationally and internationally”.
