The crisis in Ethiopia between the Ethiopian government and Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) in early November, has seen thousands of Ethiopian civilians flee to Sudan with thousands of others reportedly killed. It is estimated that more than 40,000 Ethiopians have crossed into Sudan seeking shelter and safety away from the war. UNHCR estimates that the numbers could rise to 200,000 in the coming weeks. Plan International is responding to the crisis at the Kassala border point in Sudan, working with women, adolescent girls and children who are most affected by the unrest. We are working in the refugee camps to provide psychosocial support and child protection services for children and adolescent girls and assist in identifying unaccompanied children and reuniting them with their families.
